The company Apex Motors, registered in the UK by businessmen from Hong Kong, introduced its first model – the electric supercar AP-0, which has access to public roads. At the moment, it has the status of a concept, but the creators plan to launch it in production with minimal changes.
On the rear axle of the Apex, electrical installation with a capacity of 658 horsepower is installed, which accelerates the supercar from 0 to 100 km / h in 2.3 seconds. The top speed is 306 km / h. Under the floor is a traction battery of 90 kW / h, providing a range of up to 515 kilometers. The battery supports charging stations with a return of up to 350 kilowatts and from the most powerful, it charges up to 80% in just 15 minutes.
The Apex AP-0 is based on a carbon monocoque, and the appearance of the supercar is made in the style of cars for endurance racing. As with sports specimens, most of the downforce is generated by the bottom of the car, not the wing. The clearance of the model is 95 millimeters.
The double cabin AP-0 is equipped with three monitors located in front of the driver, a holographic screen with augmented reality and a freestanding display of the multimedia system. In addition, the sports car received a rectangular steering wheel, which can not be used because of the autopilot. The AP-0 autonomous control system can later be upgraded to level 4. Also announced is a virtual instructor who will teach driving on different racing tracks.
Apex Motors is now planning to build a plant in Surrey, UK, to begin selling AP-0s at the end of 2022. The starting price of the supercar has already been announced – 150,000 pounds.
