Jeep introduced the first Wrangler image with an enlarged hood and a 392 badge, which indicates that under the hood is a 6.4-liter Hemi V8.
The automaker is preparing a “hot” version of the current generation JL SUV, which will first receive a serial eight-cylinder version. Previously, getting the coveted V8 under the hood of the current Wrangler was possible only in third-party workshops. It should be noted that the tuners have repeatedly proved that under the hood of an SUV, the V8 could easily fit. It was rumored that the automaker could not install such motors because of passive safety, but it seems the company managed to solve this problem.
An icon 392 indicates that the legendary SUV will be equipped with a 6.4-liter Hemi V8 (the number 392 indicates the working volume in cubic inches). At the moment, such a power unit can be found on the Charger and Challenger models, where its output reaches 485 hp, which is much more than any unit available for Wrangler. Hemi V8 will receive an 8-speed automatic or six-speed manual transmission.
