The American company Classic Recreations has introduced the Shelby body called the GT500 CR Carbon Edition. Restmod will combine the GT500 muscle car style and modern technical stuffing.
The muscle car will receive a fully carbon fiber body, thanks to which it was possible to significantly reduce the weight of the car. The restmod weighs 270 kilograms less than the original GT500 CR.
The power plant will be a 5.0-liter V8 Coyote with a capacity of 810 hp. The torque will be transmitted to the rear axle via a Tremec six-speed manual transmission. High-quality braking will be provided by Wilwood components.
The bodies for the restomods will be produced by Speedcore, and the specialists of Classic Recreations will be responsible for the assembly process. Shelby is not involved in the assembly of the machines, but licenses and distributes them through a facility in Las Vegas. Each car takes 12 to 18 months to build.
